As we seek to support students’ growth and learning, we have committed to investing in their holistic well-being. For many students, college is a season of life where they are learning how to make healthy, informed choices in order to excel and succeed not just in their academics, but in life generally. Included in these decisions are critical choices regarding alcohol, tobacco and other drugs. Join us as we share our experiences from engaging students not just on the topics of addiction and dependence but also on the potential impact of risky substance use. We will be utilizing data for Student Health Services’ new SBIRT program to inform our discussion of substance use prevalence here at Mason. We will also provide an overview of resources available on campus and in the community for those in need of substance use services.
